No, MTG, Israel Doesn’t Control Your Car

THE LIE

Israel secretly controls American politicians and pushes them to enact policies that harm the United States.
THE TRUTH

America is run by Americans, and many of the strongest pro-Israel lawmakers also back the strongest America First policies.
BACKGROUND

On April 30, 2026, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tucker Carlson claimed that because some pro-Israel politicians support policies they dislike, Israel must be the secret force behind them. They singled out Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), branding him a “slavish servant of Israel” who is “leading the charge on every other antihuman initiative that comes out of the United States Congress.” MTG pointed out that Lawler is funded by “the Jewish community” and “Christian Zionists.”

MTG accused Israel of being behind policies such as the medical mutilation of children, warrantless surveillance of Americans, and AI-powered cars with “kill switches” that can operate outside the owner’s control.Tucker added his recurring accusation that Israel is fueling mass immigration to both America and Europe.

MTG insisted that the entire U.S. Congress is bought by Israel — except for herself and four others — and suggested that Israel also controls governors and other state-level elected officials. (Tucker Carlson)
TRUTH EXPLAINED

It remains unclear how Israel, with one of the highest costs of living in the world and a GDP far smaller than America’s, could possibly have the financial power to buy and control so many American politicians. (Globes), (Forbes)

The central argument rests on a classic correlation-causation fallacy: assuming that because some pro-Israel lawmakers vote for certain domestic policies, Israel must be forcing their votes. The strongest pro-Israel lawmakers in Congress — including Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL), Rep. David Kustoff (R-TN), and even Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) — voted for MTG’s own Protect Children’s Innocence Act (H.R. 3492) in December 2025, which sought to ban the medical mutilation of children for gender ideology. Nevertheless, MTG told Tucker the bill’s passage was a “miracle” because pro-Israel lawmakers were supposedly so opposed to it. (House)

These same strongly pro-Israel conservatives also voted against extending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Haitian migrants and have taken hardline positions against mass immigration — directly contradicting Tucker and MTG’s claim that Israel is pushing open borders through its supporters in Congress. Top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have repeatedly warned Europe against unchecked mass immigration for security reasons. (Times of Israel), (Times of Israel)

MTG’s claim that Israel controls Congress is clearly false. President Donald Trump has publicly highlighted rising antisemitism in Congress along with growing criticism of Israel. More than two dozen congressional candidates and members have vowed not to accept donations from pro-Israel groups, and recent polling shows many Americans are now more inclined to support candidates who criticize Israel. Despite these shifting political realities and clear evidence to the contrary, Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to insist — as she has for well over a year — that Israel owns virtually every politician in America.
QUOTES

“You know what’s really frightening is, it’s something the meathead bros of the manosphere and the crazy f*cking pink-haired weirdos of the far-Left on campus agree on. They don’t like the Jews, either one of them. They both think the Jews are the problem of everything in the world, just like people did 1000 years ago and 100 years ago and throughout history.” — Bill Maher

“There are a lot of people that need to be told to start taking responsibility for their own actions and don’t blame other people for your problems. Especially a group of people that is .02% of the world’s population. And here’s where it gets people very angry. It is fundamentally a liberal attitude to blame other people for your problems.” — Charlie Kirk
TAKEAWAY

Staunchly pro-Israel lawmakers voted for MTG’s own bill to protect children, oppose mass immigration, and back America First policies, yet she still blames them for the country’s ills. Meanwhile, a tiny nation with a fraction of America’s wealth is somehow credited with god-like powers to buy an entire superpower’s government. It’s an anti-Israel grift — a comforting scapegoat that lets failed politicians like MTG blame a foreign country for domestic failures instead of admitting that bad policies often come from American voters, American lobbies, and American politicians like herself. The “Israel controls everything” narrative is intellectually bankrupt, factually ridiculous, and increasingly pathetic.
